“In writing the boy saw
that he could be a novice
monk or beggar at the same time
The boy learned how to use the words
He saw that he could make mistakes with words
And he started making mistakes
He could change the afternoon by putting rain on it
The boy performed wonders
Even he made a stone bloom”

Free translation of the poem “O MENINO QUE CARREGAVA ÁGUA NA PENEIRA” (1999), by MANOEL DE BARROS
To me, composing means…
… creating spaces
… shortening distances between elements that have their own history
… exploring the sensoriality of sound and visual objects
… inviting the listener to navigate and interact with a network of meanings and senses

MovieScape
October 23-25, 2019
in collaboration with NICS-Unicamp artists

Audiovisual Works
The noise inside
18th SBCM, Pernambuco, Brasil
October 24, 2021
in collaboration with Mariana Cabral
The noise inside aims to portray the suffocating environment that surrounded us during the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of fabric and noise, through the textural perception of video and audio, seeks to represent a kind of imprisonment and repetition that we experience in the routine of social isolation.
Na sala de Jantar
Música estranha 8.5,
São Paulo, Brasil
April 25, 2021
in collaboration with Collective Capim Novo
Na sala de Jantar represents what we understand as noise in public space, generated by the large amount of information that circulates, which ultimately stimulates a kind of inactivity in people and thus catalyses public debate.
Electroacoustic Works
CLUSTER!
Without cohesion
Nycemf 2018, New York, USA
July 18, 2018
Não adianta inventar sem coesão! - It does not make sense to invent without cohesion! This is a verse from Pedro Marques' book Cena Absurdo, which inspired a series of compositions using his poems in 2016. The piece CLUSTER! Without Cohesion works with the idea of overlapping and conflicting materials from different compositions of his book.
Traum
July 25-31, 2021
ICMC 2021, Santiago, Chile
Traum (which means dream) refers to the sound sensations we have when we sleep. These sensations have a physical stimulus that mixes with and influences our dreams. The music was composed of a concrete material (the sound of a door hinge) mixed with my imagination of the sensations of the sounds we hear when we sleep.

Descontinuum I
V MusMat , Rio de Janeiro, Brasil
December 11, 2020
performed by Ariane Petri

Rarefações
XXX ANPPOM, Campina Grande, Brasil
December 10, 2020
performed by Guilherme Misina
